OBITUARY: WWII Vet Theodore J. Bittelari 1931-2012
Theodore J. Bittelari of Watertown, died on Wednesday May 9, 2012 after
a long illness. Born in Watertown, MA at 46 Spring St, on March 22,
1931 and has lived there ever since. He was a retired Electrical
Engineer for Fay, Spofford, & Thorndike of Burlington, MA. He served
in the United States Air Force as an Airman 1st Class, serving four
years and served in the Korean War for over one year. He was awarded the
Good Conduct Medal; the United Nations Service Medal; National Defense
Medal; and the Korean Service Medal. He was the son of the late John T.
and Christina (Lambert) Bittelari, the brother of Colonel Thomas J.
Bittelari, of Framingham, MA, and the late William J. Bittelari, George
J. Bittelari and sister Lillian (Bittelari) Pappas. He is survived by
nephews and a niece John G. Bittelari of New Hampshire, Jeff Pappas of
Groveland, MA, Mark Pappas of Cambridge, MA, Lisa Pappas of Ft. Collins,
Colorado, Bryan Pappas of Portsmouth, New Hampshire and several
grandnephews and a great grandnephew. He was a member of the
Albanian-American War Veterans, the American Legion, the Disabled
American Veterans, The Watertown Elks, and the late Watertown Eagles.
The Visiting Hours will be from 4p.m. to 8p.m. on Tuesday at the Nardone
Funeral Home, 373 Main Street, Watertown, MA. Relatives & friends
are kindly invited. Funeral Services will be at the Albanian-Orthodox
Cathedral of St. George, 523 East Broadway, South Boston, MA, on
Wednesday at 11a.m. Burial Services will be private. In lieu of flowers,
donations in memory of Ted, may be made to the St. George Cathedral
and/or the Salvation Army. |
